Energy Conservation Competition

One of the primary concerns of man at the moment is ever increasing energy conservation. NIT Kurukshetra plans to take this into consideration and try and work towards it by employing a very simple concept, explained as follows.

A competition between various hostels will be conducted during Literati to check the per capita energy consumption in every hostel. Energy consumption per person, every three days will be recorded for approximately a month, without the students knowledge, making sure their energy consumption recorded is as normal. During Literati, the energy consumed by every student will be recorded. The hostel with the least per capita energy consumption will be awarded (award on Chief Warden’s discretion). Students will be notified about this competition a day before the inauguration of the festival.

 

Depending on the success of this competition, it can be inculcated for every month. This will not only result in a drastic decrease in energy consumption of the entire college, but will also give our college a good name in terms of community involvement.
