NIRMAAN: Design of structures
The figure below shows the plan of a single-storey canteen building.
The roof is an RC slab supported on an RC beam.
The beam is supported by an RC column at the centre.
It rests on two brick walls on the sides.
Based on the design and material specifications given as below;
Design the Slab, Beam, Column and Footing based on the Limit State Method.
Useful data
Use SP-16 and IS-456 for the design and give their references as per usage.
Use M30 and Fe 415 with mild level of exposure.
The brick wall is 250 mm thick.
Live Load on slab = 2 kN/m2 on slab
- No of members per team 2
- The solution has to be submitted on A-4 Sized sheets.
- The solution should be submitted before 5:00 P.M. 26th January, 2010.
- Participants have to come for an question and answer session during LITERATI 10 , as per schedule.
- For teams from outside NITK, both the submission and question answer session for design will be done during Literati 10 itself as per schedule.
